The Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 is India's first dedicated data-protection law, and the DPDP Rules, 2025 have only just made it operational. Most Indian organisations have not had to think about consent, notices or grievance contacts before — so finding gaps here is normal, not shameful.
