1. Who these terms are between

This website is operated by Data Niyam. By using the site, its free assessments, its paid toolkits or any document you download from it, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

2. What the site provides

Data Niyam publishes guidance, assessments, checklists and document templates relating to the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the DPDP Rules, 2025. Everything published here is general information and professional guidance material. It is not legal advice, and using it does not create an advocate–client relationship.

No assessment, score, report or template on this site states or implies that an organisation is compliant with the Act. Findings are assessed against specific provisions, and the responsibility for acting on them stays with the organisation.

3. Your use of the material

Templates and toolkits you buy or download may be used inside your own organisation, adapted for your own processing activities, and shared with your own advisers. They may not be resold, republished, or offered as a product or service of your own.

The text, structure, framework material, reports and branding on this site remain the property of Data Niyam.

4. Assessments and tests you run yourself

Free tools on this site, including the DPDP readiness assessment and the consent flow test, read information you provide or a public web page you name. You must only run them against a site or an organisation you are authorised to assess. They read published pages; they do not submit forms, sign in, or attempt to access anything private.

Results depend on what is visible at the time of the reading. A check that could not be seen is reported as such and is never reported as a pass.

5. Payments

Paid packs are delivered digitally, immediately after payment is confirmed. Because delivery is immediate and the material is downloadable, payments are not refundable once the documents have been issued. If a payment succeeds and the documents do not reach you, write to us and we will reissue them.

6. Limits on liability

Data Niyam is not liable for any regulatory outcome, loss or claim arising from how the material on this site is used, adapted or relied upon. Decisions about your organisation's processing remain yours.

7. Changes and governing law

These terms may be updated as the service changes; the version on this page is the one that applies. These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka have jurisdiction.
